As much as we may try to avoid it, conflict is an inevitable feature in our daily lives. This is especially true in the workplace, where you have to collaborate and work closely with people of different backgrounds and personalities every day. And although conflict in the workplace is not always a bad thing, ignoring it can turn a small challenge into a larger issue if left unaddressed.

In September, we focused our monthly Twitter chat on how to deal with workplace conflicts. We asked #HRTailgate attendees to share their tips for what methods best prevent and resolve conflicts and steps companies can take to implement these processes. The hosts of this month’s chat were both part of the G&A Partners family! Amy Turner, PHR, is an HR Advisor/Team Lead in our Salt Lake City office, and Catherine Coats is an HR Assistant in our Houston office. Both are experts in addressing conflicts in the modern-day workforce and had plenty of valuable insight to share throughout the conversation.
