Colorado employment law has unique requirements that affect how you manage HR, payroll, and compliance. We help you focus on what matters for your business.
Colorado is not a right-to-work state, so union-security clauses that require employees to join a union or pay dues as a condition of employment are generally still permitted under applicable federal law.
While Colorado is an at-will state, employers can still face legal action for wrongful termination. It is essential to ensure every separation is handled legally to mitigate the risk of discrimination claims. G&A’s HR professionals help ensure your policies are fair and legally sound.
Most Colorado employers are required to carry workers’ compensation insurance. A PEO helps ensure proper coverage and claim management.
Colorado and some of its municipalities have their own minimum wage and overtime requirements, which often differ from federal law. Employers must also comply with rules around rest and meal breaks and daily overtime laws. Employers must also pay earned wages to terminated Colorado employees on the date of separation. Our HR experts can help you navigate these requirements to ensure accuracy.
Colorado has mandatory paid sick leave and paid medical and family leave laws providing employees in the state with time off for approved purposes. A PEO is able to assist with policy development and tracking of paid sick time and help you navigate the contribution and benefits processes that paid family leaves require.
Employers are subject to federal OSHA standards as well as state-level enforcement. A Colorado PEO like G&A provides guidance and risk management to help keep you compliant.
Stay compliant with confidence — partner with a Colorado PEO that knows state rules inside and out.
It does. Sales and service both work out of Denver, so you're getting local support.
G&A entered Colorado through acquisition rather than opening a new office from scratch, starting with Employer Essentials in 2017 and Platinum Colorado in 2018. Both are part of G&A Partners now, so if your business worked with either name before, you're still with the same local team under the G&A Partners name.
Three models, depending on how much you want off your plate. PEO puts your full HR function under a co-employment arrangement, with G&A handling day-to-day tasks. ASO keeps HR with you and adds G&A support for payroll and wherever else you want it. HCM gives you HR technology backed by a live team that works with you directly.
A broad mix, including professional services, skilled trades, healthcare, technology, nonprofits, and manufacturing companies. If you're not sure where yours fits, that's a quick conversation to have directly with G&A.
Not really. Small teams handling HR for the first time, midsize companies outgrowing their current setup, and fast-growing businesses hiring faster than they can staff for it all show up regularly in G&A's Colorado client base.
There's no fixed rate. Your headcount, the services you pick, and whether PEO, ASO, or HCM fits best all factor into it. A business advisor can give you a real number once they know your business.
PEO and ASO both run about 6 to 7 weeks from signing to go-live, covering payroll setup, benefits enrollment, and compliance work like reviewing exempt and nonexempt classifications. HCM moves faster, usually around 30 days, since there's no co-employment transition to set up. An onboarding team runs that process with you, then your named Client Success Manager takes over once you're live.
