PEO Insider: Strategies for Building a Destination Workplace

G&A Partners’ chief people officer Michelle Mikesell discusses how improving your people practices can build a workplace employees want to be a part of, in the PEO Insider article, “Weaving Company Values Into Strategic Initiatives to Create a Destination Workplace.”

In the article, which appears in PEO Insider’s February issue that focuses on employee engagement, Mikesell says that establishing meaningful values is a start to building a destination workplace.

“[A destination workplace] starts with establishing values that are more than words on a page or a poster in the hall,” writes Michelle in the article. “Employees should see those values in action daily. Our values, such as putting people first and leading by example, are tied to everything we do.”

Employee resource groups that give employees a space to collaborate and surveys that regularly solicit employee feedback can also empower employees to make a difference.

“We actively solicit feedback from our employees so we can address issues and create an even better place to work,” says Mikesell. She emphasizes that asking for feedback only matters if you “share those results – so we do with all our employees on a regular cadence.”
