Complexities are opportunities for G&A Partners, a human resources outsourcing company that helps businesses with often intricate administrative tasks such as employee benefits and payroll processing.
Helping clients deal effectively with bureaucracy enabled G&A to soar to reported revenue of $1.27 billion in 2015, notching 12th place in the Chronicle’s list of top private companies, from 14th last year.
“To the extent that doing business now is more complex, people tend to outsource more, and we’rethe beneficiaries of that,” chairman and CEO Tony Grijalva said.
Grijalva and John Allen, president and chief operating officer, founded the business in 1995.
G&A has offices in Texas’ biggest cities as well as Salt Lake City, Phoenix and Minneapolis-St Paul. It also has a presence in San Jose, Costa Rica, and Bogota, Colombia, and it is considering expanding to other sites. Grijalva said that about 70 percent of its business is in Texas, and of that, roughly 60 percent is in Houston.
G&A has 188 employees, 124 in the Houston area, and its progress prompted a move in May to new premises in the Energy Corridor.
The company’s dramatic growth only two decades after its birth has surprised even its co-founder.
“Never in my wildest dreams did I think we would have reached this size in this time. It’s an amazing ride,” Griljalva said.
