HOUSTON – September 3, 2009 – G&A Partners, a Houston-based outsourced human resource (HR) and administrative service provider, ranks once again among the Top 500 Businesses, according to Hispanic Business Magazine.
G&A Partners, which was ranked consecutively among the top 500 Hispanic-owned businesses in 2007 (#33) and 2008 (#21), continues to climb the list, reaching #19 for 2009. The new Hispanic Business rankings place G&A among the top 20 Hispanic companies in the United States. In addition, G&A is ranked #1 among Houston-based companies, and #4 among Texas companies named to the list.
“We are extremely pleased to again be named to the list of HB500 companies,” said Tony Grijalva, Chairman and CEO of G&A. “Despite a challenging economy, G&A continues to deliver strong performance in an ever more competitive industry.”
Grijalva added that while businesses in other industries are struggling, G&A and the PEO industry as a whole are maintaining their positions during this economic downturn because PEOs allow companies to outsource non-core administrative functions so that they can operate more efficiently and owners can focus on revenue-generating opportunities. For G&A in particular, Grijalva notes that its solid footing with manufacturing companies, contractors and non-profits is a key contributor to the firm’s continuing strength.
To be eligible for the HB500, companies must be at least 51 percent Hispanic-owned. Companies are ranked based on revenue figures researched by Hispanic Business staff. Hispanic Business Magazine began the HB500 in 1983, with only 400 companies listed (then, HB400), in hopes of monitoring the performance and progress of Hispanic-owned businesses. The first HB500 list was presented in 1985. That year only 230 companies reported revenues of $5 million or more. By 1996, companies had to show revenues totaling at least $5 million to be considered for the list.
G&A Partners was founded in 1995 by Antonio (“Tony”) R. Grijalva and John W. Allen. The company takes on integral HR and administrative functions for growing businesses and serves as co-employer for its clients’ employees. As experts in human resources, benefits, payroll, accounting and risk management, G&A relieves business owners of these responsibilities so they can focus more time on their core businesses.
