Performance Appraisals: A Broken Practice

Do performance appraisals really improve performance?

The traditional model for performance reviews/appraisals is proving to cause more problems than employers intended. Studies show that performance appraisals typically yield skewed results, have the ability to psychologically impact the employees, and are time-consuming with little ROI.
